Marissa and Kreg were married on this Saturday here in Edmonton. I’ve known the bride for over a decade and was honored when she asked me to photograph their wedding day.
The weather did its best to interfere with our plans, but with a little patience and perseverance we managed to brighten up the Royal Alberta Museum grounds with the smiling wedding party and keep photographing the wedding.
As all fans of cherry blossoms in Edmonton know, the best time of year to photograph them or perhaps possibly the only time to photograph them is the three weeks covering the second half of May and the first week of June. If photographers wait too long the blossoms are on the ground, a shade of pale white, and not nearly as impressive to photograph. If timed properly, and you have a few unspoiled locations tucked away in the back of your mind, you can find them in full bloom and adding to the romance and vibrance of any setting.
Congratulations again to Kreg and Marissa and thank you again for inviting me to photograph your wedding! Photos continue below or you can view more of Kreg and Marissa’s wedding in their wedding gallery.
